FESTIVAL IN LERIDA
Meeting with accordionists of the Pyrenees
(27-29 of July: dates to confirm)
In Lerida, from 1976, every summer is being organized the most important in Europe festival of accordion music, which the European Union included it the European Route of Traditional Music.

XXXII edition of the festival starts on the 20th and lasts until 30th of July and will offer the high quality program of different styles of music, from classical music, fado, jazz, blues, flamenco, tango to folk.
The series of concerts will open the performance of the French jazz pianist Frances Michel Camino on the 20th of July in the San Martin Square (open for all public) and the spectacle of the group: “Els Comediants”: “El elogio de la Locura” (“Prise of Insanity”) which is based on the texts of “Don Quijote” with the music, dance and the fires on the streets of the city.
The stars of the festival will be the North-American folk-singer: Joan Baez, the Catalan diva: Montserrat Caballé and Portuguese pianist María Joâo Pires.Their concerts will take place in the Patio de las Armas of Alcazar and the San Juan Church.
12 days of the festival will be divided into three parts: during the first part which will be based on the classical music, will perform: The Jacques Loussier Trio, Carlos Mena & Bach Consort Wien, Maria Joâo Pires, Nicolau de Figueiredo.This part will close with the opera of Mussorgski “El Casamiento” (“Wedding”), directed by Riccardo Bini.
The second part is Open Festival on the Plaza Mayor with the performance of the Orquesta BandArt, the pianist Javier Perianes, the modern flamenco of Arcangel, Joan Baez and Omara Portuondo. The last concert of the Open Festival will take place on the Plaza Mayor of the Segovia on the 30th of July: with the group of the Korean drummers: Binari which as well as the opening performance will be free of charge.
Finally: the Young Festival where young artists will have an opportunity to present themselves, among others: the Young Arab-Jewish Orchestra.
The tickets will cost from 6 until 45 euro and you can buy to buy them from 2nd of July in the Reception of the Visitors in the Azoguejo Square, in the Foundation of Don Juan de Borbón ( c/Judería Vieja 12) and also 1 hour before the performance in the concert place.

The Benicàssim International Festival (FIB) takes place each summer since 1994 on Spain’s sun drenched eastern coast, in the Castillón - province situated between Barcelona and Valencia.
The festival is established as one of the premier events in Europe’s music calendar, it focuses in alternative pop rock and electronic music and every year more than 100 artists are invited.
This year the festival will last from 17th to 20th of July, which means 4 days of the best live music drenched in mediterranean sunshine.
The artists who have already confirmed their show are Morrissey, Babyshambles, my Bloody Valentine , Leonard Cohen , José Gonzalez, The Rumble Strips.
There is also plenty of entertainment planned including short films, theatre, art exhibition and dance demonstration.
What is new this year is that the festival will also take place in Madrid for one night, the 19th of July with
Morrissey, My Bloody Valentine, Mika ,Siouxsie.
The numerous activities , the good music, and the beach : it is a date that is not to be missed.
